Play Style Lab: Freaky Sneaky Sneaker Fetish

Since the beginning of PLAY STYLE LAB there have been laces, there have been soles and tongues and synthetic uppers. They have been cut, glued and sewn in so many different variations that they don’t even remember what a foot looks like any more.

We are coming to the conclusion of our lab and when I walked into our classroom this morning I saw sneakers. They are everywhere. They are t-shirts, glasses, swimsuits, hairpieces… even shoes! (I know it’s a crazy idea, but you never know, this sneakers on feet thing might take off one day).

I like the idea of sneakers as part of clothing because it starts to blur the lines of what people expect to see in a fashion restyle and opens a new avenue for creativity. If people are wearing sneakers as underwear then just imagine what else might happen in this crazy world we live in.

Now we’ve started our styling and all the kooky designs that were hanging on the rack are coming together and, might I add, looking pretty awesome.

…and you thought sneakers were just for feet.
